Laoise McMullin

Laoise McMullin, originally from Galway, is a pianist and composer who recently achieved a First Class Honours in her Bachelor of Music Performance Degree in the Royal Irish Academy of Music, under the tuition of Professor Thérèse Fahy. In September 2022, she is commencing a Master in Piano Performance and Composition Degree in RIAM. Laoise enjoys performing regularly in masterclasses and concerts, as well as participating in competition. In June 2022, Laoise attended the Walled City Music International Piano Festival in Derry, taking part in masterclasses with various international teachers including Noriko Ogawa. Laoise was also chosen to represent RIAM in the Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year competition in October 2022. Laoise is greatly looking forward to performances over the upcoming year, as well as expanding her composition portfolio and having opportunities to hear her compositions performed by other musicians, while continuing to teach piano and spread a love of music to students.

David Vesey

Irish pianist, David Vesey, from Co. Laois is an award winning pianist with a passion for music. An 1848 scholar at the Royal Irish Academy of Music studying with Hugh Tinney, David performs both classical music and traditional Irish music to a high standard.

David graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2021 from the MTU Cork School of Music, graduating as the highest placed student. While in Cork, David won the Advanced Recital competition in the conservatoire and has since been a recipient of an MTU Arts Office Bursary to support his professional development. In 2021, David also won the Audrey Chisholm award at the Birr Festival of Music and the John A. Piggott Cup at Feis Ceoil. In 2022, he won the Hamilton Harty Concerto Cup at the Feis Ceoil and was selected for a showcase concert at the National Concert Hall recently.

Aside from performing, David teaches piano and is committed to promoting classical and traditional Irish music.
