New Ross Piano Festival
NEW ROSS
In 2008 we celebrated 800 years since New Ross was established by the Normans. In the lovely medieval poem describing the building of the walls of New Ross the poet extends the welcome that is always there for the visitor to Ross:

For this is the best free town
to be found in continent or island
and every stranger finds a welcome
and is received with great joy.

Between concerts there are plenty of places to visit and things to do:
 - view the beautiful Ros Tapestry: www.rostapestry.com
 - tour the impressive Dunbrody Emigrant Ship moored on the quay in the town: www.dunbrody.com
 - take a trip on the river: www.rivercruises.ie
 - go for a walk in the J F K Arboretum: www.heritageireland.ie
 - Inistioge and Graignamanagh in nearby Co. Kilkenny are lovely small towns to wander round

In New Ross there is a variety of excellent small shops, restaurants, and a range of accommodation to suit every budget, all of which can be seen at www.wexfordtourism.com or by phoning the Tourist Office on the quay in New Ross, 051 425239.

See www.whatconcert.ie for information on the New Ross Piano Festival as well as other concerts and events of interest around the country.
